Aluminum Sunglasses Provide Style and Durability

By Adam Snamsen

When it comes to durability and stability, metallic frame sunglasses have a definite superiority over plastic frame sunglasses. Aluminum sunglasses are both less expensive and provide a formidable durability in comparison to the other metal alloys used for making sunglasses.

Aluminum sunglasses have the benefit of being highly corrosive resistant as well as being very lightweight. The only metal alloy that can surpass aluminum sunglasses are titanium sunglasses, but these can be quite expensive. A pair of aluminum sunglasses can be kept with their own polished metal finish or they can be colored to offer a unique and stylish look.

Aluminum frame sunglasses are mostly used by high-end eyewear designers and can be considered luxury eyewear. These can be made in all the styles that we know today, such as aviators, cruisers, gliders, etc., for both men and women.

The fact that aluminum sunglasses are so resistant can bring about a small problem. They can be difficult to adjust because they are resistant to bend, but the problem can easily be solved by taking them to an eyewear store. Here they will have the tools necessary for adjusting the sunglasses without scratching the color or finish.

Aluminum frames in sunglasses can be perfect for making performance eyewear. Aluminum sunglasses can be easily used by people who wear them while facing wind resistance. They can be worn by motorcycle riders, skateboarders, bicycle riders, skiers and snowboarders. The high durability of aluminum sunglasses means that the wind will not distort them in any way.

Aluminum sunglasses are no different from other sunglasses in that they come in a variety of lens tint colors. A common design is to have matching colors for frames and lenses, but some eyewear designers combine complementary colors in the frames and tints. Some examples are to have gold color aluminum frames with warm colors or polished aluminum finish with cold colors.

Choosing the tint for your aluminum sunglasses is mostly a matter of personal choice, although the colors for the tints have different effects on light. Gray and black lens tints are effective at reducing brightness without affecting colors. Amber and brown tints reduce glare, but tend to somewhat distort colors. Yellow tints are much more effective at reducing glare and filtering out blue light, but also have much greater color distortion. Green tinted lenses are best for providing contrast between objects. Red and rose colored tints are the best for outdoor activities because they provide excellent contrast against blue and green backgrounds.

There is always a pair of sunglasses that is appropriate for all face shapes and facial features. Aluminum sunglasses can be the perfect cost-effective eyewear to provide durability and a great look.
